The Drinking Water Quality Management Standard (DWQMS), released in October 2006, provides a framework for the development and implementation of a quality management system for drinking-water systems. The standard adopts the same "Plan-Do-Check-Improve" methodology used in ISO-based systems; this approach maintains a focus on measurement, monitoring, and continual improvement of the DWQMS. This system is mandated by the MOE under the Safe Drinking Water Act, 2002.
