Waste Management Master Plan Study, City of Kawartha Lakes, Kawartha Lakes, ON
Senior professionals of UEM were involved in the waste management EA process for the establishment of additional landfill capacity for the City of Kawartha Lakes. UEM staff's role included project management, coordination of multi-disciplinary sub-consultants team, preparation of an EA Terms of Reference, landfill site selection and preparation of the EA documentation for the preferred continued use and north expansion of the Linday-Ops Landfill. Other activities included, liaison with MOE and other regulatory bodies and establishment and delivery of a community consultation program. Following the EA Approvals, a Part V EPA document including a Landfill Design, Operations and Maintenance Report was prepared for the site.
Long-Term Waste Management Study, TRI-R Municipalities (Burk's Falls, Armour and Ryerson)
UEM is developing a long-term waste management plan for the village of Burk's Falls, Township of Armour and Township of Ryerson. UEM prepared the Environmental Assessment Terms of Reference and examined alternative waste management approaches and technologies. With the passing of Ontario Regulation 101/07, UEM is now assisting the TRI-R Municipalities with the design and approvals for the expansion of the existing landfill, based on the streamlined EA Act approvals process.
