McBain Community Centre, Niagara Falls, Ontario
UEM was retained by the City of Niagara Falls to provide project management services for the planning, development and construction of this 100,000 square foot, $25 million Community Centre.
UEM was involved from the outset and coordinated the participation of several stakeholders, including the City, YMCA of Niagara and the Public Library. Our range of services included site selection, project scheduling and budget control, ongoing environmental and engineering advisory and design services and overall project responsibility. UEM was proud to be involved in this community project and for it to be delivered on time and within the approved budget.
Legends on the Niagara Golf Complex, Niagara Falls, Ontario
The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC) retained UEM to assist the project planning and development of a premiere 45-hole golf complex. UEM provided assistance in many areas, including environmental advice, design of access roads and bridges, environmental approvals and project team coordination. The Legends Complex is one of Ontario's premiere golf facilities.
Niagara Waste Systems/Walker Brothers Quarries Ltd. - Niagara Falls, Ontario
UEM provided project management for the approvals of the Niagara Waste Systems (NWS) Landfill located in the East Quarry. We coordinated a project team, took leadership in obtaining approvals and were central to a comprehensive consultation process involving area Municipal and Regional Councils, facility neighbours, interested public groups and area industry. The NWS Landfill has serviced Niagara and Southern Ontario for many years and has been an important component of the private sector waste management system.
Four Pad Arena Complex - Niagara Falls, Ontario
UEM has acted as owners representatives for the City of Niagara Falls on this $35 million four pad arena complex since its inception. UEM developed the project schedule and budget and were responsible for the site and architectural project team selections. It is anticipated that the new Arena complex will be opened by September 2009.
South Mountain Community Complex - Hamilton, Ontario
UEM has assisted the City of Hamilton, the YMCA, the Hamilton Public Library and Hamilton Police Services in the planning, development and construction of a community centre in the South Mountain neighbourhood of Hamilton. An important project management role completed by UEM was to assist the four partners in developing project objectives. These activities produced a memorandum of understanding which formed the basis of future agreements between the partners. UEM is providing project management services on behalf of the owners during the construction phase.
