Lornewood Creek Sanitary Sewer Improvements – Region of Peel
UEM was retained by Peel Region to design improvements to a 1,667–metre length of sanitary sewer in the City of Mississauga. The majority of this sewer length is located along the banks or under the bed of Lornewood Creek, an environmentally sensitive wooded area. The reconstruction is required due to signs of deterioration in the existing infrastructure. The project includes both rehabilitation of some existing sections and construction of new sections. Non-intrusive/trenchless rehabilitation efforts, including jack-and-bore, pipe-bursting, and relining technologies, will be used wherever possible to minimize impacts to the surrounding environment. Design activities and public consultation activities are ongoing. UEM will provide contract administration during the construction process.
